The main point is always that the cameras aren't about safety or traffic control, but are about revenue. Well it's pretty simple. The revenue stream wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the red light runners. It's like the old joke where the guy goes to the doctor and says, "Doc it hurts when I do this." And the doc says, "Well, don't do that." Besides, what's the hurry? With the way most traffic lights are timed to keep the traffic moving, if you run this red light, you're likely to have to stop at the next one anyway.
