Meet Ron Bloom.

He's the second head of the Automotive Task Force that's part of the government effort to not run General Motors.

His predecessor, Steve Rattner, stepped down from the position last week after less than six months on the job to return to private life in New York.

Testifying before a U.S. House Judiciary subcommittee (that would be the same body that apparently is trying to run GM), Mr. Bloom said the administration "strongly opposes" congressional efforts to reinstate up to 3,200 dealerships cut by GM and Chrysler as part of the car companies' bankruptcy reorganizations.

Ooo, tough words, "strongly oppose"

A member of the subcommittee asked, "You expect the American people to believe that...the auto task force is not running General Motors?" 

"We are not running it," Bloom replied, saying the board would act independently. "We have reserved the right to vote our shares up or down on the directors, but we will not be intervening in the day-to-day operations of the company."

Right, a majority stock holder has no effect on the day to day operations of the company they control. Keep repeating that until you believe it.
