Zig-Zag
The Virginia Department of Transportation is trying a new strategy to slow us down on the roads, zig zag lines on the roads.
I've seen the dots on the highway to help maintain proper spacing between vehicles and control speed and they seem to work in the places I've seen them, so why not squiggles?
I bet it would definitely work if you made the center line zig zag!
People are talking about these lines in the CarSpace forums, so jump right in with your opinion!
Part of my daily routine includes flipping on the radio to listen to the morning show on WRSC while I do whatever it is that I do each day. My good buddy Kevin is one of the hosts of the morning show and just like all of us, sometimes gets frustrated with other drivers as he's motoring about in his PT Cruiser.
Lots of things get his attention on the roads. Speeding, jaywalking, cell phone using drivers, eating behind the wheel, lack of turn signal use, construction delays, and farding women are just a few of the road hazards I've heard him comment on over the years.
But nothing seems to fire him up like a tailgater.
He found a possible answer to his frustrations in a license plate frame with an LED display on which you can program messages of up to 120 characters to scroll across the display. While this may not be legal in all states, it certainly is enough inspiration to come up with a list of the Top Ten Things to Say to Tailgaters.
10 - I'll drive my car, you drive yours. How about we try that?
9 - I'm going the speed limit. What part of passing lane don't you understand?
8 - Honk once if you're going to an emergency, honk twice if you're just annoying
7 - Avoid carbon monoxide poisoning - try your brakes!
6 - If I make a sudden stop, you'll be wearing these groceries.
5 - You may never get to where you're going on time. You should have left earlier.
4 - In the world of road rage, you are a carrier.
3 - Flash those high beams one more time... please!
2 - Let me guess... Earnhardt?
1 - If you can read this, I'd be amazed... and you'd be too close.
You're in a hurry?
I've got just the thing for you
A piece of my mind
