CarSpace The Car ConsultantFor experienced information on how to pick, buy and save on a vehicle. Oct 6, 2008 - Looking for a gas saver &/or an eco-saver!!!Hello fellow drivers,
Ethanol is less of a polluter than gas. BUT it is 20%$ less powerful thus a car with 21 mpg will become 16 mpg. Ethanol also costs more than gas . I repeat "ETHANOL COSTS MORE THAN GAS." It is only widely available in the midwest. It is made from feed grains that could be absorbing CO2 but instead are dug up by desiel machinery that further pollute the enviroment. Hydrogen is extremely clean. In a fuel cell its only by product is heat and water. BUT It is an expensive process using mostly fossil fuels to produce it, but using water as a more of the main source is in the works. Electricity is very quiet, has an immediate full torque and no significant emissions.BUT the batteries have a relatively short trip capacity and recharging takes hours, batteries have a short life span and are expensive. And are expensive to buy and to maintain. Hybrids. Now we come to the only option that I see as reasonable at this time. Hybrids Offer you ultra low fuel consumption and prolongs the life of the electric power cell. So what are your concerns about this? I and the other bloggers here will be glad to help you.
