I saw this black convertible from way back and thought, "What the heck is that?" When I got close enough to see the Mercedes logo, I knew it was an SLR Maclaren. Yummy! I love a badass roadster...

There were two auctions this weekend that showed the two extremes of the car hobby.
First was the Barrett-Jackson auction from Scottsdale, Arizona. The cars coming across the block there were amazing in their quality and, for some, their price...

It's that week again. That week in January where I plop myself down in front of the tube with an A-Treat soda in one hand, pretzel sticks in the other, and both eyes glued to the Speed Channel for another 40 hours of auction coverage...the Barrett-Jackson auction from Scottsdale.
Back in 1990, FNN (the Financial News Network...now CNBC) covered this auction for one Sunday afternoon and it was wonderful...

The tiny little thing parked by the garage is a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. I have never seen one before.
