Don't you just love it when you can look at two things and just see that 2+2 does indeed equal 4?
Consider these two headlines:
Toyota Motor To Begin Talks With GM On Pull-Out From US Joint Venture
Toyota Targets Profitability in North America by Next Fiscal Year
Isn't that a remarkable coincidence?

We all know that the automotive industry is in trouble. Bankruptcies at GM and Chrysler were the expected outcome. These two companies used the “excuse” of economic upheaval to radically reorganize themselves in ways that labor unions, stockholders, and franchise laws wouldn’t allow otherwise...

Mar 6, 2009 2:46 pm | Categories: toyotaPosted by ToyotaNews
The auto industry has been buzzing with ongoing news and updates regarding the Detroit Bailout, but American automakers aren’t the only ones in need of government cash. Toyota is now seeking loans from the Japanese government to help it weather the global financial crisis and make cash available despite tightening credit.
Toyota is expecting an operating loss of about $4.6 billion this fiscal year, due largely to falling global new car demand...
With tons of options and stylish looks, the new 2009 Toyota Sienna Louisville is a great minivan that is incredibly capable to meet any family's needs. Of the multiple options, I would strongly encourage getting the rear seat DVD system (for the kids, and not just for long trips...) and the Navigation system. The 3.5 Liter V6 engine provides 265 Horsepower and provides plenty of power, but more important, it is one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its class, with 23 mpg Highway, and some online reviews submitted by drivers are indicating 24-25 mpg Highway!..

The all-new 2009 Toyota Venza crossover is intended to blend styling, comfort, and practicality into a package that many buyers are craving. While some may see the Toyota Venza as just another crossover vehicle, others are seeing the Venza as a bold new direction for Toyota that offers something that few of its competitors can.
Although the resemblance is thin, the Toyota Venza is based on the FT-SX concept vehicle, which debuted at the North American International Auto Show back in 2005...
Looks like the incoming President at Toyota is bringing his StickMop to the job.
Toyota, the world’s largest automaker, will replace most of its top management later this year as incoming President Akio Toyoda aims to return the automaker to profit, people familiar with the matter said.
Interesting to see the contrast between how Toyota is dealing with turning things around compared to the Detroit manufacturers...

At times I'm accused of wearing rose-colored glasses, but that has to be a better way to approach things than the way people constantly look for ways to make things look as bad as possible, especially the media.
For example, take the story I read this morning about auto sales in Japan with the headline that includes, "Worst December Ever".
While it is true that auto sales in Japan are off as they are elsewhere, the headline is only possible when sales of minivehicles, one of the growing segments of auto sales in Japan, are excluded...
