Fox Business obtained a copy of a letter from Chrysler CEO Robert Nardelli to employees and contractors about the restructuring plans. Give the letter a read and let us know what you think. Does it make sense?..
Same story, two different takes.
On CNNMoney.com it says:
DETROIT -(Dow Jones)- Chrysler LLC won't need additional federal funding to run its operations if it succeeds in securing $5 billion in low-interest loans by the end of the month.
The $5 billion will help Chrysler work through the crucial July shutdown period when U.S...
Finally! The 2010 Dodge Ram HD

As the former owner of a 1996 Ram 3500 and the present owner of a 2005 Ram 3500, I've been awaiting this introduction for quite some time. It was going to determine whether I hung on to my 05 or started saving for a new one.
In my blog post on the 2009 Ram 1500, I noted three things that I hoped would appear on the 2010 Ram HD, and it looks like I scored on all three. The front bumper is indeed fully separate from the body (unlike the 1500) so that auxiliary equipment like plows and winches can be installed easily. The ST model offers an all-vinyl interior that you can get dirty. And the front springs in particular have been uprated and it now appears that they may permit a snow-plow package for the diesel pickups (a Dodge first, Ford has offered it for years).
As for the truck itself...
Chrysler Exec Looks Optimistically Ahead

At a press conferences held at the National Automobile Dealers Association’s annual convention, Chrysler’s President and Vice Chairman, Jim Press, claimed that Chrysler could be turning things around as early as spring. Thanks to new vehicles, loosened credit, and possibly also due to its new partnership with Fiat, Chrysler is hoping to avoid bankruptcy and remain viable in the auto industry.
Chrysler has struggled even despite receiving billions of dollars in loans from the federal government...
Possible Relationships and Solutions for Chrysler

As Chrysler strives to put together its reorganization plans to satisfy the requirements for its federal loan, the automaker may be in talks to sell assets to Nissan-Renault or auto parts supplier Magna to possible as part of a restructuring plan.
Previously, Renault-Nissan had been in talks with Chrysler relating to a potential merger, but those talks had failed. Similar discussions with General Motors had also failed to produce a feasible solution to their financial woes...
Chrysler held an impromptu press conference Wednesday morning to debunk rumors that it is discussing the sale of its brands, selling off its plants or going out of business. But being sold off as an entire company remains a possibility.
This was in reaction to a report that Chrysler is in talks to sell off parts of the company, including the PT Cruiser brand to a Chinese company...
Expect More Deals From Chrysler Dealers
Dec 19, 2008 9:41 am | Categories: chryslerPosted by chyrsler_fan
Beginning January 1, Chrysler will be increasing various fees that dealers are required to pay on aging inventory. This is unfortunate news for many Chrysler dealers, as they’ve already faced hardships and many are already at risk of going out of business.
While this may very well be terrible news for dealers, it may translate into great news for consumers according to St Louis used cars dealers...
Cerberus Capital Management has shown their true colors in the last few months. It's no surprise that these are money people and not industry people. Their reason to exist is to move money around... I understand that.
So now that the economy has gone in the big green trash bin, Cerberus has its eye on a prize - trade Chrysler for GMAC so they can get their hands on some of that $700 billion being made available to banks. GMAC, for those unaware, has a mortgage business in addition to the car loan business. They have stated this week they are going to apply for bank holding company status in order to apply for those federal funds...
Heating Up, Going Down?

The buzz is that the merger talks between GM and Chrysler are heating up.
And it would seem that the biggest point of interest in the deal for GM would be the $11 billion in cash that is currently on Chrysler's books, and Cerberus is said to be considering a large investment in GM stock should the deal get done. With a pile of cash on the table and the prospect of more from the owners of that pile if the merger happens, it looks like this has a good chance to become reality...
What could GM possibly want with Chrysler?
They could use Jeep to replace Hummer as the "off-road brand", they could use the Charger and 300 to replace the Impala and LaCrosse, and they'd finally get a minivan people want.
That's it...
