The all new Honda Insight will break ground as an affordable new hybrid within reach of consumers who want great fuel economy and great value. The new Honda Insight will offer five-passenger seating and plenty of cargo space inside a relatively compact body. The estimated on-sale date for the Insight in Tallahassee at our local Honda Dealer is April 21 2009. Proctor Honda is proud to bring this wonderful vehicle to the state of Florida.
Looks like things could get interesting in the hybrid market.
Honda Motor Co wants to price its new Insight hybrid car below $20,000 in the U.S. market, a top executive said on Thursday...
The 2009 Honda Ridgeline Cincinnati was ranked as the #2 of 4 in Sport Utility Trucks by US News editors - and I have to say I agree, it's a great truck. I will approach this from a different angle though, and share why many Ridgeline buyers really like this sport utility truck. OK, let's be honest here...

Changes may be ahead for many of Honda’s most anticipated new models. As Honda struggles to deal with sliding new car sales in North America and abroad, it looks like Honda will be halting plans on a new Honda NSX supercar, along with other higher-end models as well.
Honda’s replacement for the NSX super car has been in the works for quite a while...
Looking For The Worst

At times I'm accused of wearing rose-colored glasses, but that has to be a better way to approach things than the way people constantly look for ways to make things look as bad as possible, especially the media.
For example, take the story I read this morning about auto sales in Japan with the headline that includes, "Worst December Ever".
While it is true that auto sales in Japan are off as they are elsewhere, the headline is only possible when sales of minivehicles, one of the growing segments of auto sales in Japan, are excluded...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone! It's been awhile since I last wrote here. I hope all of you are doing well.
This blog entry is a few weeks late but I thought I'd share some of the vehicles I really liked at this year's Los Angeles International Auto Show.
Mazda MAZDA3
Some people hate that the new MAZDA3 looks like it's smilling. I love it! I'm still not too keen on the plastic above the fog lights, but that may grow on me.The new 3 will hit Mazda showrooms this spring in sedan and hatchback form. That said, I still highly recommend the current MAZDA3 as the best compact car one can get right now (if all-wheel drive is not needed)...
Honda may appear to be invincible to many consumers in the US. With the domestic automakers suffering, largely perceived to be in such as precarious situation simply because their lineup doesn’t offer the types of quality, fuel efficient vehicles that consumers want, Honda has just announced that they will be slashing production dramatically to align production with dwindling demand.
While Honda is the only automaker in the US that doesn’t offer an engine choice larger than six cylinders, they also have needed to make cutbacks which Louisville Honda dealers says is largely due to the sluggish economy...
Cincinnati 2009 Honda CR-V Personal Review

One of the great benefits for working with a large automotive family is that I get the opportunity to drive many new cars of all types. For the last month, I have had a 2009 Honda CR-V, and I am super impressed!
Our other car at home is a Toyota 4Runner, which we originally bought for a good family SUV that also had the ability to pull a camper. As our children are getting older, and we no longer need to have a vehicle to tow something heavy, we are starting to look at a SUV that is a bit smaller in size, but still gives us all wheel drive performance and plenty of room for 4 plus some cargo space.
Independent reviews of the Honda CR-V are quite positive, calling it "high dollar crossover style in a compact price SUV". My wife and I have both driven the 2009 Honda CR-V, and there are several things we love about it:
* Nav system with rear view camera: The Navigation system screen is easy to operate, while the rear view camera is great for safety and convenience. Now, when we back into our narrow garage entrance, or into a parking spot, we can clearly see if we have clearance and if we have pulled all the way back into the spot - nice!
* Audio system: You can insert a CD into the player on the dash, or easily put several CDs into the mulitiple CD cartridge that inserts between the driver and passenger seats. Remember the early systems that were installed in your trunk??? This is super convenient...
Sedan silliness

While I believe every person should be allowed to do what he or she wants to do to his or her automobile, I detest the things people do to bread-and-better family sedans. As point-A to point-B people-movers, they were not designed with sporting intentions in mind. What about cars such as the Toyota Camry SE you say? No! It's still a Camry! It's not wrong to own a Camcord or any other typical mid-size family sedan. I simply believe it's wrong to modify one in such a disgusting way.
Current generation Toyota Camry
1998-2002 Honda Accord
2002 Toyota Camry on dubs (20-inch or more wheels for those who aren't with the "lingo")
Here's a classic web site pointing out more ridiculous transgressions against the automobile.
