Forget fantasy football. If you're into cars then the place to be is The Car Stock Exchange. It's an online game by the Edmunds' Inside Line crew where you can buy and sell stock in upcoming vehicles, which is valued based on predicting the sales of particular models in the U.S. The money used in CSX exists only in the virtual world and new members receive $1,000,000 in funny money for joining.

That was the deep, breathy intro of Knight Rider, as voiced by William Conrad (Cannon, Jake and the Fat Man).
Last week, NBC aired the new Knight Rider movie. This is the third major "re-issue" of a 70s-80s television show that featured a well-known vehicle as one of the stars. We had Starsky & Hutch with the famous "Striped Tomato" Ford Gran Torino, and Dukes of Hazzard with its "General Lee" Dodge Charger. But in those theatrical releases, it was current actors playing the old roles. To their credit, the producers of the new Knight Rider movie chose to move the story into the present, acknowledging in the storyline that the previous incarnation was 25 years ago...
For those who crave a bit more excitement than the Honda Puyo from yesterday's blog, the folks at Maserati are unveiling the 2008 Maserati Gran Turismo S at the Geneva Auto Show.
A 440-horsepower 4.7-liter V8 propels the new model, which also gets an electro-actuated gearbox and Brembo performance brakes.
Maserati hopes the car will help alter the misperception that its cars are prohibitively expensive...

Until around 1950, there was a Wild West-like attitude in the American automotive industry. It was a frontier to be conquered. Throughout automotive history, there have been something like 5,000 individual makers of cars and trucks in the world with about 3,500 of them being situated in the United States...
I like concept cars. Most of the time it's because of the futuristic potential and excitement.
Sometimes it's just because they are plain weird...
