Feb 24, 2008 - Honda Pilot Driver's Seat Catches Fire

Talk about being in the hot seat!

A member reports having his 2004 Honda Pilot car seat go up in flames after warming the car for a few minutes on a cold Chicago morning. The car was filled with smoke and a flame was visible. The driver managed to extinguish the fire and now has a two inch hole in the driver's seat along with a horrible smell.

At least two other members report similar incidents and a number report that while their seats haven't burned their heated seats become unbearably hot. The original poster had the good fortune of having his dealer fix the problem and repair or replace the seat even though the Pilot was long out of warranty. Others report uncooperative dealers though eventually they did come around and fix the problems for them. The incidents have been reported to NHTSA.

That's why it's important to check our car as often as we can just to make sure that we are safety while driving. Bronx Junk Car Removal

I would like to tell the world, or just this web site about my 2001 Honda Odyssey. The engine light repeatedly went on, which cost $80 to shut off each time, and the sliding doors stuck open. Then the car needed Solenoids. Then a new transmission last year on Feb 28th 2004. At that time, the Teletype block was cracked, the Honda dealer felt bad for us, so they paid for one half of the cost of the rented car, and for the labor for the cracked engine block.
