Apr 23, 2008 - Chevrolet Malibu New for 2008

Chevy MalibuThe 2000 Chevrolet Malibu may be a vehicle that can help turnaround the struggling automaker. Like all domestic automakers, Chevrolet’s midsize offering is lackluster to say the least, and the new Chevy Malibu is the company’s hope in taking market share away from the Japanese competition.

To start, the new Chevrolet Malibu has be stretch in almost every dimension measurement mimics those of the class dominating Toyota Camry. The benefit of this is that interior space and truck size will keep owners happier, and with a larger engine the new Malibu can move the family faster too as pointed out by Chevy dealers Chicago which has already seen strong Malibu sales. In addition, GM is highlighting the new design in advertising. That too has been drastically improved, and its styling is not as forgettable as the previous model’s.

The top of the line Chevy Malibu model comes with a 3.6 liter V6 engine that’s mated to a six speed transmission. The engine puts out 252 horsepower, which is quite powerful even by San Diego Corvette dealer standards while the base four cylinder engine produces 169 horsepower and is mated to a four speed transmission. The new Malibu also has a hybrid variant available costing a mere $1800 the four cylinder mode. With 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, the Malibu hybrid could be an attractive addition to the Malibu lineup.

Inside, GM has extensively improved and upgraded the interior. Drivers will find a more upscale design and layout, with quality materials to match. Rear seat occupants will find additional leg room and may even find the optional a 110 volt AC plug which makes plugging in laptops and other devices simple. The interior is also quieter while underway, thanks to thicker windows, sound deadening materials, and an insulated truck. These materials may have contributed to the new models 240 pound weight gain over the previous model, but it was well worth it.

General Motors has vastly improved the new Chevrolet Malibu. It’s larger and more powerful, but it also adds an upscale style and more distinctive character that has gotten Chevrolet Port Charlotte customer a little more excited about driving one. In fact, Used Cars Albuquerque have already seen the new Malibu as being a popular vehicle in the Chevy lineup. In addition, the Malibu’s added appeal may help continue its role in fleet sales and as a rental fleet favorite.

Check out the new Chevrolet Malibu at Chevy showrooms now. Although Chevrolet has struggled in the current economic climate, the Malibu continues to be one of the strongest models within the Chevy lineup.
