Feb 9, 2009 - My first volvo experienceGrowing up as a child my next door neighbor had a fascination with volvos.He had a pair of 144 and a pv544. I used to watch him work on them. He was a nice neighbor, someone I looked up to.He certainly had a high opinion of volvos. When I got married one of my first jobs as to sell cars at the loval volvo dealership....I learned about how they were made and fell in love.I remember driving my first one home, an 82 GL 4drsdn .The doors closed with the weight of a tank. I felt so secure and cool....I drove it for many years and gave it away to a friend with over 250,000 miles on it.Ok, OK, now it's time to fess up...I once went 125,000 miles between oil changes with the car...I've had 4 more since loving every one of them.
