Apr 24, 2009 - What is a Certified Pre-Owned Car?

The term certified pre-owned refers to used cars that are offered with automaker-backed warranties that extend the new car's initial coverage — ranging from three months up to three years. To be labeled certified pre-owned, a used vehicle must meet a rigorous set of quality standards that are determined by the manufacturer. If factory-trained technicians find problems during the CPO inspection, they fix the issues or disqualify the car from the program. For the most part, the certified warranty takes effect when the original one expires and, like a new-car warranty, it offers coverage for a certain number of years or miles.

Therefore, if the warranty on a used car is roughly comparable to that of a new car, buying used may let you step up to a slightly better class of vehicle for the same money. For example:

Each Toyota Certified Used Vehicle comes with a 7-year/100,000 mile Limited Powertrain Warranty (from original date of first use when purchased as new). We also add 7 years/100,000 miles of 24-hour Roadside Assistance.

Each Volkswagen Certified Used vehicle comes with a 2 year or 24,000 mile/40,000 km (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty no deductible charged when you visit a dealer for covered repairs, receive the balance of the 4 year or 50,000 mile/80,000 km limited powertrain warranty and any remaining corrosion perforation warranty.

  • Apr 15, 2009 - Toyota President's Award

Each year, Toyota Motor Sales recognizes its stellar dealerships with the prestigious President's Award. It's a very high honor a dealership can receive from Toyota, and is only awarded to those dealerships who have demonstrated a commitment to maintaining Toyota's high standards for customer satisfaction.

One of Toyota's primary goals is to emphasize the entire ownership experience. We want to help ensure that our customers are satisfied not only at the time of purchase, but as long as they own their vehicle. Offering top quality cars and trucks is, of course, the first step - but only the beginning. Toyota dealerships strive to match the quality of our products with the finest service in the industry. In order to qualify as a President's Award winner, dealerships must excel in each of a series of categories, including Customer Sales Satisfaction and Customer Service Satisfaction. Dealerships which meet the requirements in all categories receive name badge recognition at all dealer events, national recognition in an Automotive News advertisement and, of course, the beautiful President's Award Tiffany crystal trophy.

    Apr 15, 2009 - Buying Vs. Leasing

Who should lease their new car:
People who like to buy a new car every 2 to 3 years. Leasing will allow you to lower your payment or to drive a more expensive car with a monthly payment similar to a less-expensive car.

Who should not lease their new car:
People who like to keep their cars for a long time, high-mileage drivers, and those who don't want to be forced into a decision about buying another car at the end of the lease period.
