Aug 5, 2008 - Countdown to Bond: Corvorado Pimpmobile & the Caprice Highway

"Live and Let Die" is more associated with having the coolest boat chase ever rather than cars. In fact, there is no "Bond car" in the movie. There is, however, a New York highway filled with almost nothing but 1973 Chevrolet Caprice sedans and wagons -- take a look at the screen shot below. It was a pre-cursor to the all-GM highway in the "Matrix Reloaded."

The one exception on that highway is the white pimpmobile driven by henchman Whisper. This was one of the three specialty pimpmobiles built by Dunham Coach builders featured in "Live and Let Die" -- the others being a '71 Cadillac Fleetwood and Eldorado. The main white one was called the Corvorado, a name derived from the two cars it was based on. Its entire passenger compartment, inner doors, side glass, roof, mechanicals, etc. are all from a Corvette, while the body panels are a fiberglass molding of a 1972 Eldorado's body panels with some Dunham pimp specialties like the Cadillac logo door handles.

So no, there is no Bond car here, but how could I not mention the Pimpmobile?
