Driving Miss Crazy

Adventures, observations and never short of an automotive opinion.

Jul 16, 2007 - Officer, I'd Stop if I knew where

Hidden Stop Sign

I think the photo says it all, don't you?  Yes, it is enough to drive anyone crazy.  The photo was shot from approximately 15 feet away.  Notice the ability to fully see the Stop sign.  Notice the white line on the fresh pavement noting where to stop.

What you don't see in the photo is the intersecting street to the left where the local Sheriff likes to sit.  I've noted the stop sign with the red dot and our favorite law enforcement's place to sit with the blue dot on the map.

Luckily, I know the neighborhood well enough to remember there is a Stop sign.  I doubt anyone getting a ticket would lose in traffic court however if they took in a few photos - or this blog post!

That is nothing. Take your picture and cut off the remaining peice of Rochard Road. Picture only an L shaped road with Richard and Meda meeting with a stop sign remaining right where you have it. That is exactly the setup I had in Nashville, TN. Why would anyone have a stop sign (with no line) on a 2 way "L shaped" street? Traffic has no way of converging on each other (provided you can drive). But hey- this too was a fav for metro police officers to hang out and bait tax paying people for tickets. Needless to say I got a ticket for it. NEEDLESS MORE TO SAY the sign has been moved AFTER I paid my dues with the ticket!! NEEDLESSS MORE MORE- the Metro police farternity called me asking for donations the following week. I told them - they received payment/donation via my traffic tix! lol There are some truely idiotic things that go on in the streets. Good POST!

It seems like that would be a pretty easy one to fight in court.

Is this a vine covered wall or hedge? A pair of hedge clippers or a sledge hammer might fix the problem. :-)

OMG!!! I can't believe it! What a trap! I would be fuming if I got pulled over for missing this stop sign.
