Things I have learned from 20 years on the front lines of the used car business that might help you!

Sep 17, 2009 - GM to Launch Money- Back Guarantee

General Motors set to introduce a new program to the new car industry but a familiar one to a North Carolina used car dealer: a money-back guarantee.

Detroit, Michigan - General Motors Co. is taking a page from Conover, NC used car dealer Village Motors, with its latest marketing blitz in an effort sell more cars: a money-back guarantee.

The initiative - while unorthodox for an automaker - is nothing new for Village Motors of Conover. They started their “48 Hour 100% Iron-Clad Money Back Guarantee” back in 2007 and covers all  vehicles...regardless of the make or model. GM’s program will only cover 2009 and 2010 model-year cars from GM's surviving brands, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC. The program will run through Nov. 30 as part of a "May the Best Car Win" campaign aimed at convincing consumers to return to GM.

The company (GM.) once held half of the U.S. market, but quality issues on some of its models in the 1970s through the 1990s put a damper on GM's reputation among car buyers. It now has about 20 percent of the market.

On the other end of the spectrum, Village Motors in Conover, NC continues to dominate the used car market by consistently outperforming the competition with a level of customer service and satisfaction that is rarely seen in any industry, and ground breaking in the used car industry!

Bruce Roffey, the manager of Village Motrors of Conover, LLC, said that he hopes this latest offer is not just more “smoke and mirrors” by a new car company.

"It’s about time that GM started giving consumers what they wanted. However, if they are so confident in their current product line-up, why don’t they make their money-back guarantee permanent? I can’t understand why they are ending their program in November. Rest assured, Village Motors will continue our 100% Iron-Clad Money Back Guarantee long after General Motors has stopped theirs," he said in a statement.

Sep 8, 2009 - When Honesty Doesn't Quite Cut It

The last few years has certainly exposed us to a fundamental breakdown of trust in our society. While honesty is still alive in most American institutions, the lies and deception of these times has created an overwhelming climate of caution and mistrust. Trust takes many years of actions over words to establish. Admittedly, there is no substitute for honesty in business. But sometimes, honesty alone just isn't enough, not the only key to good decisions. An honest doctor can make the wrong prognosis, an honest broker can make a bad investment recommendation, and an honest car dealer may not offer the best value in a used car!

Knowledge and experience, coupled with integrity, usually results in good advice, good value. Here at Village Motors in Conover, NC we take enormous pride in not only the way we run our business with integrity, but also in the enormous value that each and every one of our customers derive from the decades of experience and knowledge that we bring to the table for you. We've accumulated this vast amount of knowledge and experience from selling over 30,000 cars since 1969. We've assisted in excess of 20,000 good folks, just like you, with top notch financing for the transportation your family needs. We never have, and never will indulge in the fast profits that come from slick and deceptive sales promotions. We always have, and we always will, be here to serve you and your family, every day. With honesty, integrity AND experience!

Simply put, there is no one else in the car business that can offer you the value that we do. We just have the years and years of dedication to this community, the car business, and our customers that profoundly stands above the rest. We have the cars, trucks, and SUV's that you really want, and we have the experience to help you get the best value available for your hard earned dollar.

Sep 4, 2009 - Used Car Sales in North Carolina Follow National Trend

Used Car Sales in North Carolina Follow National Trend

North Carolina Used Car Dealer Continues to Thrive

Village Motors in Conover North Carolina specializes in the sale of used cars, trucks and SUVs. Like many used car dealers, Village Motors continues to thrive as consumers pay more attention to where their hard earned dollars are going.

Used car sales at Village Motors in Conover, NC continue to rise as buying a used car continues to be the smarter, more economical choice among consuers.

North Carolina used car sales are booming in Conover.  As the auto industry as a whole slowly regains momentum, used car dealers in North Carolina continue to attract consumers looking for a quality car at a price that is right.

North Carolina used car dealer, Bruce Roffey at Village Motors of Conover, says buying a used car used to have a negative stigma attached to it.  Bruce Roffey says, “Used cars were once thought to be problematic and only for people who didn’t have enough money for a new car.  These days, buying a used car is the economical and trendy alternative for anyone looking for a newer set of wheels.”

North Carolina residents, like the rest of consumers across the nation, have been forced to take a closer look at where their dollars are going.  This has caused a shift in priorities for many American families, and the trends have been no different at Village Motors in Conover.

Roffey says that the nation’s slumping economy has forced consumers to take a look at what really matters most.  Now that many Americans are feeling the pinch, even the wealthy are starting to realize the value of a penny.  Roffey says, “Now that our priorities as a nation are shifting back to what’s really important, friends, family, work, church, etc., being able to brag about that ‘Brand New’ car sounds sort of vein and out of focus.”

Used car sales have seen sharp increases across the country.  Today’s used cars are fuel-efficient, safe, and reliable.  Buying from a reputable used car dealer like Village Motors in North Carolina means consumers can enjoy many of the same perks new car purchasers do like road side assistance, emergency towing, and even extended warranties.

As more and more North Carolina residents opt to buy used, dealers like Village Motors who specializes in the sale of used cars, will continue to thrive, even in severe economic downturn.  “The reason, as I see it from here, is the value proposition. It just makes good economic sense to let some other person endure that initial loss we call depreciation,” adds Roffey.

Jun 18, 2009 - Five Summer Tips for Maintaining Your Cars

Five Summer Tips for Maintaining Your Cars

The summer heat can be treacherous on your car. That’s why it is important to do certain things to maintain them and keep them in tip-top shape during the hot months. Here are five things you can do to help ensure your used cars are running optimally.

Check your tire pressure. The hot weather can increase tire pressure by up to 10 percent. Take your tire gauge out and check the pressure every couple weeks to make sure they are not overinflated.
Take it to the mechanic. Having a quick checkup on your used cars by a certified mechanic is an ideal way to see if anything needs attention before it is too late.
Check the oil and wiper blades. These are two essential parts of keeping your car running smoothly and safely during the summer. You never know when a rain shower is going to hit so it’s vital to keep your wipers in good condition. Your oil is also essential for a smooth running engine. Make sure the oil is full and clean for optimum performance.
Clean out your car. The more weight you haul, the less efficient your engine is. Take out non-essential weight and you could increase your fuel efficiency by as much as three percent.
Keep an emergency kit. You never know when something is going to go wrong in the brutal heat of the summer months. It’s helpful to have an emergency kit  just in case you get stranded for some reason.
