Jun 25, 2009 - Obama Signs CARS BillAfter months of legislative efforts, the Cash for Clunkers bill, later renamed the CARS bill (Car Allowance Rebate System), was signed by President Obama on June 24th, and is now official. At this point the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has 30 days to register participating dealers and put the program fully into place. Best estimates are that the Car Allowance Rebate System program will be in operation by late July. Jeff Wyler is a participating Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana CARS dealer. We have been aggressively following the bill (from Cash to Clunkers to its current name...) and have created information pages for each of our new car brands where you can learn about the program, see what new vehicles we have that qualify, as well as contact information to communicate with one of our trained specialists who can assist you in learning if you qualify for the CARS program.
