Feb 17, 2009 - New 2009 GMC Acadia CincinnatiThe new 2009 GMC Acadia has fighter jet technology adapted for today's modern driver! As a former Naval Aviator, I often wondered why new cars did not have the option of Heads up Display (HUD) technology. If you are unsure what I am talking about, a "heads up display" is where your key data is projected on the windshield in front of you so that when you are driving (or flying), you do not have to look down at the instrument panel. For driving, the greatest example is watching your speed. HUD technology allows for safer driving because you can keep your eyes on the road, and not inside the car constantly. We were able to capture the HUD display in our 2009 GMC Acadia video, make sure to take a look. I have to say that I am impressed with how the information is projected directly onto the windshield, as most fighter aircraft have a separate, flat piece of glass inside the cockpit that the data is displayed on.
