Feb 4, 2009 - Subaru Marks the Second Month of Sales Gains

Subaru Forester imageJanuary proved to be a good month for Subaru. While most automakers posted steep sales losses in the double digits, Subaru marked a modest sales gain. What’s even more impressive is that Subaru has seen gains for the second month in a row, even as overall auto sales continue to plummet.

Subaru’s January sales gains are largely attributed to the success of the recently redesigned 2009 Subaru Forester, notes Hartford Subaru dealers and other analysts. Subaru’s compact crossover saw a 115% increase in sales, compared with the same time last year. This accounted for about 2,402 units.

In addition to having far better momentum compared with other automakers, Salinas CA Subaru remain optimistic and motivated about the months ahead. Recently, the National Automobile Dealers Association held its annual conference, and Subaru noted that overall dealer attitude was extremely positive - as it should be with excellent sales gains in a down market.

With attractive new products such as the aforementioned Forester as well as the Impreza and WRX, along with aggressive marketing and attractive financing programs, Subaru is looking to build its brand and ensure its current momentum is here to stay.
