CarSpace The Short ViewRants, rumbles, and a sprinkling of views in regard to the automotive landscape, and maybe just a hint of "check out what's goin on in my world" to keep things interesting. Mar 24, 2008 - I told you so!Nah. Only that posts to my blog would be few and far between. Interesting events happening to me since the first entry really amount to the following: 1. Found out my daughter's braces are going to be more than the downpayment on a new car. 2. Traded the 07 Av on an 08 Malibu (savings roughly equal to the braces' cost!) 3. Both kids are playing ball- the six year old is playing baseball, and the twelve year old is playing fastpitch softball. I see lots and lots of running around in our future.. 4. Easter was great, with my family coming in for the day. The kids loved it, and everyone had a great time playing ball in the yard. Temperatures were in the sixties, and it felt like summer's comin. 5. Saw snow flurries (and a serious-looking heavy snow period) today on the way to work, with temps in the mid-30's. At least nothing's sticking. What a difference a day makes! 6. I get to have my septum undeviated tomorrow morning. Fun. Fun. FUN! Did I mention fun? Well, at least I'll be able to breathe again (uh, check that- and wait 3-6 weeks). And my daughter's lovely face will look just as beautiful when she smiles at the camera. So it's not all a loss. Hope everyone else's New Year and Easter (and any other important holidays I haven't bothered to mention) has and is going great. Catch ya another day.
Dec 14, 2007 - My First Blog entry (anywhere, even!)Hard to believe, since I've been a tech nut, computer programmer, all-around electronics geek, and general money pit (ask my wife) for over 20 years now, but this is actually the very first and (so far) only blog I've ever had, and this is my first entry in that blog! It's probably going to be very rarely updated, thanks to three main issues: 1. Lack of time 2. Too much else to do 3. I'm always busy with other stuff It probably doesn't hurt that the time I do spend online is either downloading stuff for PCs, looking up fixes for problems, or (obviously, given where this blog is) catching up on the latest automotive news. Yeah- I'm definitely a car enthusiast too. Too bad for me that I'm born and will probably die in the middle class, because I'd seriously love to be like Jay Leno, buying at least one of every vehicle that catches my eye. And ya know what? They wouldn't all be exotics, or even rare / expensive. The majority might even be what many enthusiasts consider ho-hum daily grandma cars. Why? I genuinely get a kick checking out cars in general. Not to say that a nice Corvette ZR-1 (or SS, or whatever), a Limited Edition 2010 (2009?) Bumblebee Camaro, or a Porsche 911 Turbo wouldn't be found in the stable too. But cars (and trucks) of all kinds interest me. And you can never really experience what each is like unless it's really yours.
