To clean your car's air vents, you'll need:

  • Window cleaner. If you have tinted windows, use a product without ammonia or your tint can discolor

  •
  • Q-Tips

  •
  • Canned air - often sold at office supply stores for cleaning computer keyboards

  •
  • Silcone spray (e.g., AMSOIL, WD-40)

  •
  • Lint-free cloth (microfiber works great)

  1. Keep the car off, but leave doors open for ventilation. Apply window cleaner to a Q-Tip, and clean between the slats of the vents.

  2.
  3. Spray the pressurized air into the vents to remove remaining dust and clear unreachable crevices.

  4.
  5. Apply the silicone spray to a lint-free cloth and wipe down the vents. This will help protect your vents from further excess dust accumulation.
