this problem in most cases.

There is a procedure you can do yourself that may help and this is
a proven method tested by many Caliber owners.
1-Turn the ignition to RUN but DO NOT start.
2-Depress the gas pedal to the floor SLOWLY while counting to 15.
3-Release the gas SLOWLY again counting to 15.
4-Turn ignition to OFF and remove key.
5-Restart and take a test drive.
This procedure recalibrates the linarity of the fly by wire accelerator.
You can do this as often as you feel needed.
