How to Choose Rims for your Vehicle

The quickest and easiest way to change the stock appearance of your vehicle is to change your rims.

Step 1: Choose the style of rim you prefer. There are many different choices for rim styles; polished, aluminum, brushed billet, wire, monocromatic. Five point, three point, spinning. This choice is purely based on personal opinion and subjective. Choose the rim style that you like for your vehicle.

Step 2: Decided what size rim you want. Whether you want the size to remain the same, be wider or taller. Wider wheels will improve accelertation and cornering while taller wheels will be more asthetic.

Step 3: Price the style and size rim you desire through a few shops, online and possibly even on ebay.

Step 4: Make an appointment to have your rims changed. Be sure the shop mounts, balances and aligns your new rims and tires.

I have 4 custom rims on my Toyota Tundra. I have been searching for an additonal rim for the spare, but have had no luck. The rims are not stock but 18 inch and according to Boss have been discontinued. I don't really need the same rim as I have on, but just an 18 inch rim to fit my 4x4 and I don't want to spend a lot of money for just a spare. I have tried a national auto search and contacted wheel dealers but no one wants to "just sell 1 rim."

from an alignment tech be advised often times after market tire and rim combinations require special attachment methods for alignment purposes.so if ya wan't at tip send your ride to the alignment shop on stock rims and lean on the positive camber as caster will typicely not be afactor based on wheel width
