While it varies slightly from vehicle to vehicle, changing your car or truck's headlight is not very difficult to do.

Step 1: Find out what type of bulb you need.
First take a look at your vehicle's owner's manual to see what type of bulb you need and how to change it.  Then head out to the store and pick one up.

Step 2: Remove the bulb cover.
In many cars one can change the headlight by going under the hood and unscrewing the plactic bulb cover.

Step 3: Take out the bad bulb.
Next, unclip the burned out bulb and pull it out from the housing.

Step 4: Unplug the bulb.
Now unplug the wires from the bulb.

Step 5: Plug in the replacement bulb.
All you have to do to install the replacement bulb is follow steps 2 through 4 in the reverse order.  First plug the new bulb in.  It should have a three pronged setup so that it can only be plugged on one way.

Step 6: Clip the new bulb into place.
After you have plugged it in, clip the new bulb into the housing.

Step 7: Replace the bulb cover.
All that's left to do is to replace the plastic bulb cover.

Step 8: Test it out.
Now turn on your vehicle's headlights to make sure that your new bulb works.
