1.  MOTOR OIL

• Top off & change oil as necessary with manufacturer recommended “energy-conserving” grade. Doing so can improve economy by 2%

2. AIR FILTERS

• An air filter that is clogged with dust, dirt & bugs chokes off air and creates a “rich” mixture which wastes gas & causes the engine to loose power. Replacing a clogged filter, can improve fuel economy by 10%, saving about .20 cents per gallon

3. BRAKES

• Improperly Maintained brakes can result in unwanted drag. This unnecessary resistance can have the same affect as driving with a foot on the brake pedal: a dramatic drop in economy

4. SPARK PLUGS

• A worn spark plug causes a miss fire which wastes fuel

5. GAS CAPS

• 20% of vehicles on the road have damages, loose or altogether missing gas caps, causing 147 gallons of gas to vaporize annually

6. TIRE WEAR

• Replacing worn tires can save hundreds of dollars a year

7. TRANSMISSION FLUIDS

• Routinely check transmission fluid levels to ensure peak performance which is critical to your best fuel economy

8. TIRE PRESSURE

• When driving with tires that are not inflated enough, its like driving with the parking brake on and can cost you a mile or two per gallon!
