The first thing you should remember is to protect yourself first which means
1. Staying as far away from the suspected vehicle as possible.
2. Never attempting to pass or signal to the driver.
3. Determining if the driver is a drunk driver or just a bad driver, both or which are threatening however a drunk driver is more serious an offense. SIgns to look for in a drunk driver are;
-Are they driving slower or faster than the posted speed limit?
-Are they driving with out head lights on?
-Are they driving on the wrong side of the road?
-Do they brake unexpectedly?
-Are they using their turn signals sporadically and in the wrong direction?
-Do they have delayed repsonse to stop signs and/or stop lights?
If the answer to these questions is "Yes" then you should do your best to document the drivers license plate number, vehicle and driver description and description of direction the driver is headed or the area he/she is driving in. However be careful to never get too close to the vehicle.
At this point you have a few choices, you can;
1. If you know the phone number call the local police department directly
2. Call 911 or *SP on a cellular phone
3. Stop at the nearest police station in person
