VW window motors and regulators
September 8, 2007 | Categories:
I have been posting in Edmunds.com Forums on the New Beetle Convertible.  Isn't mine cute!  Well, I wish I had never bought it.  It really hasn't given me much trouble, (and thank goodness I took out extended warranty) but my daughter's 2003 Beetle certainly has.  She is way over mileage warranty because she lives in Phoenix, worked two jobs and attended college all at the same time.  Changed  clothes in her car - portable closet!  I don't think the problem has anything to do with mileage.  She has had 6 window motors or regulators go out in 3-1/2 years.  Four were under warranty, the last 2 cost $800 each.  She picked up her car after getting one rear window fixed and by the time she had driven it home, the other window had broken.  Volkswagon refuses to do anything about it because of the mileage.  My stance is that miles shouldn't effect window motors and VW has a known window defect.  A good portion of the time she has had the car she could not put the top down, because she couldn't get at least one of  the windows to go up and down. I am trying to start a class action suit.  I would like everyone who has had problems with windows to write about them and to post .  Then join my list of friends and send me name, address, telephone  #. VIN  # and short description of the problems they have had.  I also would like everyone who lives near where they are having  a VW Rally to go there in their bug with a sign.  I'M CUTE, BUT BUYER BEWARE.  This will attract attention I'm sure, you can tell them your troubles with your windows and get names and pertinent contact information, and please VIN #, of anyone who has had problems; then, we will send to lawyer for class action suit. I am an extremely busy woman right now.  Of course, I know everybody is busy; however, I really am soliciting for someone who has a little time on his/her hands who could consult with me and then take over running this...
