My SuperBeetle new
I got this used 76? Bug after moving to Anchorage in 1980; it would go anywhere in the winter. Unfortunately you couldn't see out the windows for all the frost.

I had an experience with a Beetle of similar vintage. It was snowing hard on I-25 here in CO, I was passing a semi when he slashed wet slush onto my windshield just as I was in a very precarious position. Luckily, I did see that there wasn't a car in front of this semi before manuvering into the passing lane (this was my saving grace). It was so cold, on the less than working wipers that it froze and I had zero visibility. I knew that there were cars behind me. All I could do was to use the semi as a guide and speed up to pass him, then pull off to the side of the road. A very scarry situation I never want to repeat. VW needed to improve a few creature comforts before I felt sentimental about them! SedaliaSue
