How to Install Tire Chains

Here's a short tutorial showing one way to install cable tire chains on a front wheel drive vehicle.
The Professor makes a good point about the connections, so I'll add some photo links in the comments.

| Good comment Professor. Different manufacturers have different closure methods. Some use a simple open hook similar to the inside connection. Others have a hook with a notch or bump in the slot where the chain link fits. Here's a good example from Amazon.com - Thule chains.
My chains have a lever and hook closure that resembles
this one. |

| Not all too helpful because video had no closeups showing how the outside hook is attached. This hook is different from the simple hook on the inside of the tire. The lever is supposed to fold back on itself. How is this done? |

| Nice video. When I used to put on old-style chains, I would alway loosely hook the outside first. When I took them off, I would loosen the outside but keep it hooked. My idea was always keep the outside hooked so that the chains would not fall inside over the axle. I did that once and vowed to never let it happen again. |
