Max fuel economy, coasting

Added 07/10/07 by benderofbows

This video shows techniques to test the max fuel economy of my new Honda (basically 2500 RPM max, letting speed drop on hills, and a lot of coasting). Is driving like this fun? Not really. Will I see results at the end of the tank of gas? I don't know. Will my next video be more exciting? Yes!

More sky shot. good stedy camera must be on a tripod or something. Do you try to expain what your technique is while driving? never mention slopes, traffic, front and back, red lights. Oh yea RPM's.

I agree, unless I see a big jump from 28-30 mpg city to 34-36 city or more, I'm sure I'll be back to lead-footing it. I'm just curious... I've aready tested the acceleration and the handling, and now I want to see what it is capable of mileage-wise.

Yeah, that is a heck of a lot of work. Unless it really pays off in fuel economy, it doesn't look worth it. It was fun taking a drive with you, though :)
